Westminster Attack - CALL ON ALL LONDONERS AND UK RESIDENTS TO UNITE AGAINST TERRORISM
The Muslim Association of Nigeria strongly and unequivocally condemns the horrific and tragic incident that happened at the House of Parliament, Westminster on Wednesday, 22 March 2017. We are greatly appalled by this incident and emphatically condemn this act of terrorism. We echo the words of our Prime Minister in condemning the “sick and depraved act of terrorism”.
MANUK calls on all Londoners and UK residents to unite against all forms of division and intolerance. While we emphasise there is no basis whatsoever in Islam for such a savage act as purported by the perpetrator, Islam along with other religions exalts the sanctity of human life. There is no justification for such a barbaric act on innocent people.
We commend the efforts of the security personnel and emergency services for their swift response in keeping our country safe and protected.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and we sincerely share in their pain. We concur and associate ourselves with the earlier statement issued by the Muslim Council of Britain calling all our communities, Muslims and non-Muslims, to come together in solidarity to ensure that the forces of evil and hatred do not prevail. We restate that it is important to allow our Police Authorities do their job without speculation and in order for us to secure our communities better. We also urge the utmost vigilance and ask all of us to remain calm and present a united front and show those whose desire is to create fear in our communities that we are not afraid.
