The Elders Group is a MAN (UK) project for our Muslim fathers and mothers including non-members of the Association. MAN (UK) aims to fulfil our religious and welfare obligations towards our elders in providing a forum for their social interactions and to enhance their spiritual developments.

The Elders’ Group membership comprise of our fathers and mothers who have attained the age of fifty (50) years and above without regard to their affiliation to other Islamic organisation(s). 

​

Activities include:

• Monthly meetings on last Saturday of each month

• Social interaction with other members of the community irrespective of their background

• Bi-annual national and international trips to places of choice

• Periodic Health and wellbeing awareness activities to help with:

• Help with the management of those with long-term conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, mental health etc

• General health (MOT) assessments

• Occupational Therapy (OT) advice

• One-to-one social support

• Rehabilitation support following discharge from hospital

• Befriending those who require the extra support

• Social / Housing advice and support

• Welfare and Benefit entitlement support

 

Signposting/escalating cases to appropriate departments relevant to their circumstances.
